“And he still holds firm to his integrity… “ -Job 2:3

The book of Job is an encouragement to all believers when they understand the ultimate victory of the righteous over the powers of darkness in the constant spiritual warfare which all believers are involved in daily (Ephesians 6:10-12). In today’s reading, Job is passing through a test. God never gives an explanation for the problem of suffering to Job but we get many answers about why God allows sufferings. God did not condemn Job for his agonizing responses; instead of focusing on the cause of Job’s suffering, we are led to his responses in FAITH. God commends Job in his faith and trust in Him - “no one like him on the earth.” (Job 2:3) Through this test three things are proven in Job’s life.

  • Proven Faith: Job faithfully depended upon God and walked blamelessly before Him so he says in Job 13:18: “This is my case: I know that I am righteous.” (TLB). God also confess - My Servant Job and no one like him on the earth. Hebrews 11:6 [TLB] says: You can never please God without faith, without depending on him. Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely look for him.”

  • Proven Integrity: Job’s wife mocked him “Do you still hold fast your integrity?”, because that huge was Job’s loss— He loses his wealth, his children and health. But Job replied: – “Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity? “ (Job 2:10). Job proves God's confession about him that he still holds fast to his integrity!

  • Proven Victory: Satan’s accusation was Job loves God because of the good things God provided; if he loses all the blessing he will leave his faith. But we see otherwise when calamities overtook him: “in all this Job did not sin with his lips” (Job 2:10). What a testimony that shut the mouth of the accuser!

Satan is constantly accusing God’s children and trying to make them fall. My dear brothers and sisters, today we have good news. The final book in God’s Word, Revelation gives us the picture of victory for the believer—there is going to be a day when God will settle scores! The Apostle John describes his vision of eternity in Revelation 12: 10 & 11[NLT]: ‘Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has happened at last! God’s salvation and the power and the rule, and the authority of his Christ are finally here; for the Accuser of our brothers has been thrown down from heaven onto earth—he accused them day and night before our God. They defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony; for they did not love their lives but laid them down for him.” That’s the final picture in eternity!

Friend, even if your life is riddled with problems or failures, you can have victory through the Lord Jesus Christ. Today if you put your faith and trust in Christ, accepting Him into your life, He will cleanse you from your sins with His blood and make you righteous before God. No accusation can overtake you!

In Jesus Christ, the accuser is thrown down: Once you share in the life of Christ with your sins forgiven through His death, you will no longer be accused by the devil. God’s reign will be in your life. Col. 2: 15 says: “In this way God took away Satan’s power to accuse you of sin, and God openly displayed to the whole world Christ’s triumph at the cross where your sins were all taken away.”

If you openly confess in faith that the blood of Jesus Christ is shed for your sins, you are defeating Satan in spirit realm and coming under the authority of Christ Jesus.

Think on it: But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” (Job 23:10)
