Revelation 3 : 7-13

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.” -Revelation 3:8

Our perspective look into a new year varies; but God who is in control knows the end from the beginning. He has planned it out from the beginning itself and the whole world is being channeled towards that planned end.

The Bible is full of this godly plan and purpose where God has made His eternal plan clear. It is God talking to mankind—it starts with the Genesis of everything and ends with the Apocalypse book called Revelation. Revelation is basically a prophetic book containing all the things God has in plan for this end time. With this in the back of our mind we need to analyze and understand our New Year promise. This promise is given to the church in Philadelphia, that has been commended by the Lord for obeying His word and not denying His name. So the promise holds its value as far as to those of us who receive it— those who keep His word and will not deny Him.

In other words, the key to have this wonderful promise this coming year is to hold on to the Word of God and persevere. The Lord Himself taught us that- He is the door. (John 10:9):“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” So as soon as we enter through Him, we are saved from sin and satan. This is the very door that leads us to the way to Eternity. This way is called the way of the cross. (Matt. 16:24): ‘Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”’ Walking with Him is nothing but living by obedience to the Word of God. As far as the Word of God is obeyed the promise holds good for any one. This in turn assures our eternal position in Jesus Christ. As we study the Bible, we can see that the position marked out for us in heaven is unimaginable for any mortal man. A position with Jesus Christ- He is the head and we are the body; totally one with Jesus Christ to reign with Him in eternity. In (1Cor.6:17): “But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” Also in (1Cor.2:16) “….but we have the mind of Christ.” Finally it is said in (1Jn 3:2): “Beloved, now we are children of God; ….but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” This is the wonderful promise that we have when we enter through this door. We are one with Him in spirit and have the mind of Christ and will be transformed on that very moment we see Him face to face. So that we will be completely in eternal union with Him and nothing can separate us.

That is the reason why Paul says with so much affirmation:

Romans 8:38-39:

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
