“It is better together”- one of the recent advertisements read thus. As I was meditating on today's Scripture, the same thought was given as the central theme- it is better together rather than be alone. Being together is love in its full bloom. Only true Christianity can show forth this heavenly blossom here on earth. No one else or no other system here on earth can bear this beautiful flower. Unity in the Body of Christ is the ultimate expression of heavenly beauty here on earth. So this needs proper connections established between the head- (Christ) and each member. This is the platform where the heavenly character of Love can be expressed.

In today’s devotion, we have few thoughts based on this. So let us look at it from this background in our minds. Selfishness in the true nature of any human with Adamic nature and Selflessness is the true nature of any human with Second Adam's-(Christ's) nature. Selfishness prompt any means by which self interest is promoted or achieved; whereas Selflessness or agape Love promotes anything that profits the Body not its own self. What a contrast!

Telling lies to one another does not profit the Body functions instead it harms the body function. Imagine you being in the Body as an eye and you provide a false information to others regarding what you are seeing then the Body will not be able to function properly as it was designed to be. So similarly with any other parts of the Body, who tries to provide false information will bring disastrous effect within the Body. This is the reason why Apostle Paul, who had this revelation of Church as Christ's Body is trying to bring out each aspect that destroys the functions of the Body.

Another striking reason why we should not lie to each other is that we are now the children of God and in Him there is no darkness or falsehood. Anything that originates out of God will not have any trace of darkness at all. (Refer Eph 4:20-21;24). Where as anything that originates out of the devil will be a lie. [John 8:44 NLT]:  For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. So let us keep ourselves from speaking lies to one another because we are born again from above and no more the children of the devil. 

Many of us are not habitual liars but in order to overcome difficult situations we tend to make compromises. But this also is a lie. Only a person who is bold to face the consequences can tell the truth. This needs strength from above. Unless we have our life filled with the strengthening of the Holy Spirit; we cannot stand for the truth. We tend to lean towards cowardice. This is a weak character. Let us be bold like a lion and stand for the truth within our very life’s boundary. God will enable us to do this because His Spirit resides in us to face any eventuality. Perfect love dispels fear (1 John 4:18). Perfect love has been given to us through His Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5)
