One man's adhering faith in God changed the world after him-what a marvelous way to put it: "Abraham believed God!" After him came two categories of people in the world- believers and non-believers indicating two types of human responses to God. It ultimately decides the eternal destiny of any person living upon this earth. What about you?

The Believer & Righteousness:

Let's look at what happened because Abraham believed God.—It was accounted to him for righteousness (Genesis 15:6; Galatians 3:6-8; James 2:23). Abraham's belief in God put him in right standing with God. Just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin." (Romans 4:6-8 ESV). This justification had cost Him everything-His own Son was sent to the cross for justification of sinners like us. But on our side, it does not cost us anything to be justified. On the contrary after being justified in order to walk in faith we need to surrender everything to God. Abraham was asked by God to put his son on the altar in order to walk in utter obedience to God.

Believer & Eternity:

Ever since Abraham started his journey of faith, many have followed this path and reached the shore of eternity. Many from east and west, all those who believed God has entered the eternity with Abraham. God's kingdom is full of such believers. They have been justified and have a wonderful relationship with God. All who believe in Jesus Christ have been given the right to become God's children (John 1:12). Hence a believer becomes an heir to eternal blessings.

Believer & Blessedness:

Believing God brings in the Blessed One into our life. We become blessed in order to be a blessing to others. God's plan is to reach the unreached through every portion of the blessing He pours into our lives. As we see in the life of Abraham, a man with no heir when he met God was later blessed with a son and through that genealogy, Christ came to this world as a blessing to all mankind. What a blessed way of God to bless those who believe in Him! Today we who believe are blessed with His presence as a blessing in our life so that we become a blessing to others.

 

Believer- Position & Possession:

Believing God has two invariable elements attached to it, namely, the position and the possession. Position is nothing but purely entering into right standing with God and enjoying this position in every aspect of life on a daily basis. Another is “Possession,” that is to receive the full inflow of the divine nature to our own self. As we read in 2 Peter 1:4: “…by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”

Dear Father in heaven, I believe in You. Impart into my life Your divine nature, so that I become a blessing to others in this life and to enjoy the eternal life ever after. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.
